GKA Kite World Cup Mauritius 2019
The GKA Kite World Cup day two is happening right now at Bel Ombre – C Beach Club.
91 riders registered yesterday to compete across two disciplines at this double event – featuring kite-surf and freestyle.
Yesterday afternoon the men’s Kite-surf round one got under way with solid cross shore conditions out on the reef.
Go and watch some stunning action over the next week with the best kite surfers battling it out.
When in the South have lunch at Chez Rosy. Situated in Gris Gris, Souillac, (tel:+2306254179) this Mauritius restaurant offers you delicious traditional Mauritian dishes (creole feast). Grilled Lobster, seafood curry, Fish, octopus or chicken vindaye (marinated in saffron, onions and soices) and creole daube.
Rosy Goundel started the family restaurant 26 years ago and she and her daughter, Nadia will give you a warm welcome.
After a good hearty meal take a walk on the beach. There are no reefs on this beach so the sea is rough but this part of the coast is wild and beautiful. Walk along the cliffs to Le Souffleur (water enters the side of rocky a formation and pushes through a hole creating a spurt of water like a whale’s blowhole). The waves have to be high enough for this to happen.
