On the 31st May 2020 lock down was lifted in Mauritius after two and half months of lock down. There are no more cases of COVID - 19 and most activities have resumed. Supermarkets and shops will be allowed to operate normally. The shopping malls, restaurants, cafes and markets can also operate under sanitary conditions. Places of worship may also reopen. However, beaches, nightclubs and cinemas will remain closed along with the borders. The country has been in lock down since March 20. A measure taken to contain the new coronavirus. Mauritius recorded 335 positive cases including ten deaths.

As we wait in anticipation for the beaches to re-open and most importantly the international borders so tourism can recommence, the most important factor is to make sure that we adhere to the strict sanitation protocol. Wearing our masks when we leave our home, washing our hands and sanitizing often, has now become the norm and a priority in our daily lives.

Our beautiful island is as inviting as ever, warm sunny days, white sand beaches and blue lagoons. The mountains and natural parks are calling us to go and hike their beauty.
